I am most definitely not a member of the disenfranchised community, and I am not claiming to understand what is going on in your lives. I do not understand what it is like to be a woman, a slave, an African American (or any race other than Caucasian), an uneducated or illiterate person, or poor—I was not always wealthy, but I have never really been poor or truly financially struggling. But, I need those of you who are members of that community to join with me and my fellow patriots in support of the American Revolution and our independence.
Here are some examples of what I have personally been doing to make y’all’s lives better and promote equality.
I have been working very hard to make the lives of everyone that I mentioned above (and more) better. I have tirelessly worked to make public schooling available for everyone—poor, African-American, woman, etc. without discrimination.
I have been advocating for those who are owned by a white man and doing my best to abolish slavery.
I am trying to improve the prison system and get rid of public and capital punishment, in order to avoid mistakes and wrongful imprisonment.
I am pushing for the Bible to be used as a textbook in schools. I feel it is important for children to learn about Christianity and the history behind it, primarily in a historical context, but also to promote values and morals that some children may be missing out on.
I believe that mental health is an important aspect of a person’s overall wellness. It is caused by an imbalance in the brain and can result in physical manifestations. It is as real as pure physical health issues, even though it is not a visible or tangible problem.
I have written letters and used my voice against some very powerful and popular people to improve the health and hygiene of the environment, especially in war time and on the front-lines. More soldiers are dying from illness than from the actual fighting.
If you fall into any of the groups from above, I am working for you. You are important to me. If not, please come talk to me, and I will do what I can to improve your quality of life and your societal image. Please join me in fighting for the independence of the colonies so we can have representation and better lives, so we can be protected while also keeping the government from gaining total control and becoming a monarchy or even a dictatorship, and so we learn and grow together.
Please feel free to have a conversation with me about joining the Revolution. Thank you.
